Surf & Turf Pasta
A little surf and turf action! You can’t help but go for seconds on this pasta dish.
Nothing like a thick chunky noodle with lobster, steak and tons of flavor! One tip I recommend is I like to build the flavor, so add a few dashes of everything and then taste till you feel it has enough herb, pepper, butter and lemon punch.
You can also opt out of the lobster and do shrimp and ribeye variation. You can also play around with the garnishes, I thought about adding some roasted garlic on top, but just kept to the thyme, parsley and lemon as the main.
Recipe Below:
Servings: 3
Time cook: 1 hour
Ingredients
2 lobster tails, meat chopped
1 choice of steak meat, chopped (I used new york strip)
Seasoned with steak seasoning and olive oil
1 shallot, minced
1 bag of trecce pasta
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 lemon, grated and squeezed
Few fresh thyme sprigs
5 tablespoons of plant-based butter
2 tablespoons of Italian-infused olive oil
1/3 cup of white wine
couple dashes of half and half
few dashes of rosemary
few dashes of oregano
1 tablespoon of basil taste
salt and pepper to taste
red pepper flake to garnish
grated Parmesan to garnish
few sprigs of thyme to garnish
fresh parsley, chopped to garnish
Directions: In a large pot add water and salt and bring to boil. While the water is coming to a boil, chop everything you need to. Put the pasta in boiling water and cook till softened. I started to cook the lobster about 5 minutes before the pasta needed to go in the water.
In a large non-stick pan add 1 tablespoon of the oil, couple tablespoon of butter, few sprigs of thyme and quick drizzle of lemon. Add the lobster and cook for a couple minutes, remove. For the steak you can either grill or you can chop into small pieces and cook in same pan for a couple minutes until cooked to medium-rare or medium. Set aside.
Add 1 tablespoon of the butter and then add the olive oil. Add the shallot, garlic, rosemary, orgeano, salt and pepper. Cook for a couple minutes and then add the white wine and half and half. Bring to boil and then turn to low. Add a dash of the pasta water and cook until pasta is ready. Once pasta is ready transfer to large non-stick pan and toss the noodles. Add the rest of the butter, salt and pepper to taste (also lemon if needed) then add the lobster and steak. Toss, then add all the garnishes. Enjoy!
