Christmas Pizza Bread

A delicious twist to a traditional pizza.

This recipe is basically like a stromboli, but not rolled up. Funny story, when trying to make a stromboli on Christmas Eve (we typically like to do homemade dough but with the hustle and bustle of the holidays pre-made dough is the way to go) this recipe came about due to being too much of a rule follower on the baking instructions on the dough LOL, not ideal for rolling dough with a cooked crust.

Anyways, this recipe has become a new tradition and so happens to taste delicious. I usually have frozen homemade marinara sauce that is used for dipping but store-bought is okay too.

Recipe Below:

Christmas pizza bread can be good any time of the year!

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough crust, cook according to package

  • 2/3 of pesto jar

  • 2/3 cup of fresh shredded mozzarella, or more if you prefer really cheesy

  • 1/2 bag of pepperoni

  • A few slices of ham, enough to cover pizza

  • 1 egg for egg wash on crust

  • Pinch of oregano

  • Olive oil to drizzle

  • Pinch of parlsey to put on once pizza bread is done

  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce - for dipping

Spray your pan where the pizza will go on. Roll out the dough, once rolled spread the pesto. Add half of the mozzarella, add the ham, add the rest of cheese and top with pepperoni. Sprinkle the oregano and drizzle olive oil right before going into oven.

Pre-heat oven according to pizza dough instructions. Once done let it sit for 5 minutes then it is ready to eat and dip into sauce.
